Cherry Grove Point
If we had to pick one sunset spot in all of North Myrtle Beach, Cherry Grove Point would be it. Sitting right where Hog Inlet meets the Atlantic Ocean, this local favorite of a beach features water in just about every direction, making this one of the more open horizon lines you can find on this beachfront, offering a great spot for photographers to take panoramic shots of the rising or setting sun.
Heritage Shores Nature Preserve
Instead of the busier shoreline, why not enjoy the sunset with a peaceful marsh view at Heritage Shores Nature Preserve? This skywatching spot is also found in Cherry Grove, allowing visitors to walk through the salt marsh via walking paths, boardwalks, and observation areas, all of which offer great, up-close views of the coast with the glowing colors of the sky and the sun in the background. When you arrive at this park, all you need to do is head to the lot near the western end of 53rd Avenue North before taking a short walk over to the preserve. When you’re there, stick around for a little bit and enjoy the many local shorebirds like gulls and herons, as it is also a great spot for wildlife viewing.
Barefoot Landing
For a more convenient sunset viewing, head to this popular spot in North Myrtle Beach to take in views while enjoying excellent local shopping and dining. One of the best parts of watching the sun at Barefoot Landing is seeing it reflect off the nearby waters. Surrounded by water, the reflections are breathtaking.
